Synopsis – What to Expect from “Treasure Island”
Treasure Island is a 1990 live-action adventure film directed by Fraser Clarke Heston, based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel of the same name.
The story follows young Jim Hawkins (Christian Bale), a young cabin boy who dreams of adventure. One day, a mysterious old sailor named Billy Bones (Anthony Quinn) arrives at the inn where Jim works, and soon Jim and his friends find themselves on a quest for buried pirate treasure.
The innkeeper’s daughter, Sarah (Charlotte Coleman), joins Jim and his friends on their journey, and they discover that the map they have been given leads to a mysterious island. With the help of Long John Silver (Oliver Reed), an old pirate with a sinister past, they set sail for the island.
Once there, they find that the island is full of danger and mystery. The group must battle fierce storms, treacherous terrain, and a host of wild animals in order to survive. As they explore the island, they discover a hidden cave and a treasure chest filled with gold and jewels. But the island is also home to a dangerous group of pirates who have their own plans for the treasure.
