Synopsis/Plot
Trainwreck is a 2015 American romantic comedy film written and directed by Judd Apatow and starring Amy Schumer, Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, John Cena, and LeBron James. The film follows Amy, a commitment-phobic magazine writer whose life is turned upside down when she meets a sports doctor.
The film opens with Amy as a young girl, being raised by her father, who instills in her the belief that monogamy is not realistic. Fast forward to present day, and Amy is a commitment-phobic magazine writer whose casual relationships and hard-partying lifestyle are catching up with her. When she is assigned to write a profile of a sports doctor, she finds herself falling for him.
The film follows Amy as she navigates her newfound relationship with the doctor, while also trying to maintain her lifestyle and her career. Along the way, she learns to let go of her fear of commitment and learns to embrace love.
