Synopsis/Plot
Toys is a 1992 American fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Barry Levinson, and starring Robin Williams, Michael Gambon, Joan Cusack, Robin Wright, LL Cool J, and Jamie Foxx. The film tells the story of Leslie Zevo (Williams), a toy maker and the owner of a toy factory in the fictional town of Old Haven. After his father’s death, Leslie is forced to take over the factory and he discovers that his father’s military-minded brother, Lt. General Leland Zevo (Gambon), has been running the factory as a military training ground for his toy soldiers. Leslie must now battle to save the factory and his beloved toys from being destroyed by the General’s plans.
The film is a unique blend of fantasy, comedy, and drama as Leslie and his toys come to life in a world of imagination and adventure. The film features some of the most beloved toys from the 1970s and 1980s, including Mr. Potato Head, Stretch Armstrong, and G.I. Joe. The film also features a memorable soundtrack, featuring songs by Madonna, the Rolling Stones, and Aerosmith.
