Synopsis/Plot
Tower Heist is a 2011 American heist comedy film directed by Brett Ratner and written by Ted Griffin and Jeff Nathanson, based on a story by Bill Collage, Adam Cooper, and Griffin. The film stars Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, and Michael Peña.
In Tower Heist, a group of hard-working employees of a luxury Central Park condominium discover that the penthouse billionaire has stolen their retirement funds. To settle the score, they conspire to rob the tower’s high-end residents in an elaborate heist.
The film follows Josh Kovaks (Ben Stiller), the building manager of the Tower, and his team of misfit employees, who, after discovering that their pension fund has been stolen by the owner of the tower, Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda), decide to take matters into their own hands and plan a heist. Josh recruits Slide (Eddie Murphy), a criminal mastermind, to help them pull off the heist. Together, the group of unlikely criminals come up with a plan to break into the tower and steal back their money.
