Synopsis – What to Expect from “Touchback”
Touchback is an American sports drama film released in 2011. The film follows the story of Scott Murphy (Brian Presley), a former high school football star who had a promising career ahead of him, until a devastating knee injury ended his dreams.
Fifteen years later, Scott is a struggling farmer, struggling to make ends meet and raising a family with his wife, Becky (Melanie Lynskey). With his life seemingly stuck in a rut, Scott is given the chance to go back in time and relive the week before his injury.
He takes the opportunity to go back and try to prevent the injury from happening. However, Scott soon realizes that changing the past can have far-reaching consequences. He must choose between his past, present, and future and decide what kind of man he wants to be.
Meanwhile, his old high school football coach, Coach Hand (Kurt Russell), helps him to remember the importance of making the right choices in life and the value of friendship.
As Scott struggles to make his decision, he is forced to confront his past and come to terms with the choices he made. In the end, Scott learns that no matter how hard life may be, there is still hope and the power to create a better future.
