Synopsis/Plot
Tora! Tora! Tora! is a 1970 epic war film that tells the story of the attack on Pearl Harbor from both the Japanese and American perspectives. The film begins with a brief overview of the events leading up to the attack, and then shifts to focus on the two countries’ preparations for the attack. On the Japanese side, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is determined to launch the attack, despite objections from other Japanese officers. On the American side, Admiral Husband Kimmel and General Walter Short are unaware of the impending attack and are unprepared to defend against it.
The movie follows the attack as it unfolds on both sides. On the Japanese side, we see the meticulous planning and execution of the attack, as well as the bravery of the Japanese pilots. On the American side, we see the shock and confusion that ensues as the attack begins. The film culminates in a dramatic re-enactment of the attack, as Japanese planes swoop down on the unsuspecting American ships and military bases.
The film also portrays the aftermath of the attack, as both sides attempt to repair the damage and come to terms with the tragedy. The film ends with a somber reminder that war is a terrible thing,
