Synopsis/Plot
Tooth Fairy is a 2010 family comedy starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a minor league hockey player named Derek Thompson who is sentenced to one week as a real-life tooth fairy. Derek’s punishment for not believing in the tooth fairy legend is to take on the persona of the tooth fairy and visit children all over the country to collect their lost teeth and leave behind some cash. Along the way, Derek learns about the importance of believing in yourself and the power of friendship.
The movie follows Derek as he embarks on his week as a tooth fairy, struggling to keep his identity a secret from his girlfriend, the kids he visits, and even his hockey team. He meets a motley crew of characters who help him on his journey, including a veteran tooth fairy named Tracy (Julie Andrews), a sassy tooth fairy-in-training named Carly (Ashley Judd), and a rebellious tooth fairy-in-training named Randy (Billy Crystal).
Throughout his adventure, Derek discovers that the tooth fairy legend is real and that it is an important part of childhood. He learns to believe in himself, to appreciate the power of friendship, and to recognize the importance of believing in something bigger than himself. With
