Synopsis – What to Expect from “Tom Sawyer”
Tom Sawyer is a 1973 musical film based on the classic novel by Mark Twain. The film follows the adventures of the mischievous Tom Sawyer and his best friend, Huckleberry Finn, as they explore the small town of St. Petersburg, Missouri.
The story begins with Tom and his Aunt Polly preparing for a picnic. Before they can leave, Tom is sent to church with his brother, Sid. Tom is not a fan of church, so he decides to go exploring instead. He meets up with Huckleberry Finn and the two boys go on a wild adventure. They sneak into a graveyard, witness a murder, and get chased by Injun Joe.
Tom and Huck eventually meet up with Becky Thatcher, a new girl in town. Tom tries to impress her by taking her on a raft ride down the Mississippi River. Along the way, they get stuck in a cave and must find a way out.
Meanwhile, Tom’s Aunt Polly and the other townspeople are searching for Tom and Huck. They eventually find them and bring them home. Tom and Huck are punished for their mischievous behavior, but they escape and continue their adventures.
Throughout the movie, Tom and Huck find themselves in a variety of perilous situations. They must outwit Injun Joe, dodge the townspeople, and even find a way to escape from a burning building. In the end, the boys are able to save the day and return home safely.
