Synopsis – What to Expect from “Tobruk”
Tobruk is a 1967 World War II classic starring Rock Hudson, George Peppard, and Nigel Green. The movie tells the story of a small group of Allied soldiers who are sent to the desert city of Tobruk in North Africa to protect a fuel depot from the German Afrika Korps.
The group is led by Major Joe Gunn (Rock Hudson), a brave and courageous leader who is determined to do whatever it takes to protect the depot. He is joined by Sergeant Jack Moffitt (George Peppard) and Lieutenant Charlie McCafferty (Nigel Green), who are both seasoned veterans of the war.
The group is soon joined by a ragtag group of Allies, including a French Foreign Legionnaire, a British Commando, and a Canadian medic. Together, they make a formidable team.
The group soon finds themselves in a desperate battle against the Afrika Korps, who are determined to take the fuel depot. The Allies must use all of their courage and skill to fight off the enemy and protect the depot.
Throughout the battle, the group experiences many highs and lows as they come to terms with the brutality of war. In the end, the Allies are able to successfully protect the depot and prove their courage and bravery in the face of overwhelming odds.
