Synopsis/Plot
Titanic is a 1997 American epic romance and disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. The film begins with a present day expedition to the wreck of the Titanic. Through a series of flashbacks, the story then moves back to 1912, when the Titanic is preparing to set sail from Southampton, England, to New York City. Aboard the ship are passengers from all different social classes, including Jack Dawson (DiCaprio), a penniless artist, and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Winslet), a wealthy socialite. However, their love is soon threatened by the class system of the time, as Rose is engaged to a wealthy man she does not love. As the Titanic continues its voyage, Jack and Rose must fight to stay together as the ship is met with increasingly dangerous obstacles.
On the night of April 15th, 1912, the Titanic strikes an iceberg and begins
