Synopsis – What to Expect from “Time”
Time is a 2020 drama film directed by Garrett Bradley. It tells the story of Fox Rich, a Black mother of six from New Orleans, and her fight for the freedom of her husband, Rob, who was sentenced to 60 years in prison for a robbery they committed together in the 1990s.
The film begins with Fox narrating her story, and how she and Rob met, fell in love, and had six children together. We see how she struggles to raise her children alone, while Rob is in prison. She visits him every week, and is determined to get him out.
We see Fox’s determination and resilience as she fights for her husband’s release. She writes letters and petitions the court system, all while continuing to work and raise her children. We also see her work with the Innocence Project, and how they help her in her fight.
Meanwhile, Fox’s children are growing up and are starting to understand the situation their father is in. We witness how they deal with their emotions and how they support their mother in her fight.
We also see how Fox’s story has an impact on the larger criminal justice system, and how her efforts bring attention to the issue of mass incarceration.
The film culminates with Rob’s release after 21 years in prison. Fox and her family are ecstatic, and the film ends with a hopeful message of redemption and second chances.
