Synopsis/Plot
Time Travel Mater is a Pixar animated short film released in 2012, and is a spin-off of the popular Cars franchise. The film follows Mater, a rusty tow truck, as he is accidentally sent back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. After finding himself in the prehistoric era, Mater is befriended by a family of triceratops, who teach him about the past and the importance of friendship.
The film begins with Mater and Lightning McQueen, his best friend, playing a game of tractor tipping. While playing, Mater accidentally activates a time machine, sending him back to the age of the dinosaurs. After arriving in the past, Mater meets Arlo, a triceratops who is separated from his family. Mater and Arlo set out on an adventure to reunite Arlo with his family and return Mater to the present day. Along the way, Mater and Arlo learn about the importance of friendship and the power of time travel.
