Synopsis/Plot
THX 1138 is a 1971 science fiction film directed by George Lucas. Set in a dystopian future, the film follows the story of THX 1138 (Robert Duvall) and LUH 3417 (Maggie McOmie), two citizens of a heavily controlled society where emotions have been outlawed and all citizens are drugged and monitored by the police.
The film begins with THX 1138 and LUH 3417 working in a factory, where they are both drugged to suppress their emotions. After THX 1138 is caught trying to steal a robotic part, he is sent to a prison where he begins to experience the effects of the drugs. He soon escapes the prison and embarks on a journey to find freedom, accompanied by LUH 3417 and SEN 5241 (Donald Pleasence). Along the way, they encounter a group of underground rebels who are trying to overthrow the oppressive government.
The trio eventually make their way to a secret underground city, where they discover a powerful computer that controls the entire society. With the help of the computer, they are able to free the citizens from their oppressive government and restore their emotions.
