Synopsis/Plot
Thunderpants is a 2002 British-American science fiction comedy film directed by Peter Hewitt and starring Bruce Cook, Simon Callow, and Ron Perlman. The film follows the story of Patrick “Thunderpants” Smart (Cook), a boy with an extraordinary talent—he can break the sound barrier with his flatulence. Patrick’s talent is discovered by a former astronaut (Callow) who recruits him to help save a stranded space shuttle crew.
The film also stars Rupert Grint as Alan A. Allen, Patrick’s best friend, and Alan Rickman as General Blight, an evil scientist who has his own plans for Patrick’s talent.
The film follows Patrick as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance, learning to embrace and use his talent to help others. Along the way, he meets a colorful cast of characters, including a former Soviet cosmonaut (Perlman), a mad scientist (Rickman), and a group of misfits who help him on his quest.
