Synopsis – What to Expect from “Thunderheart”
Thunderheart is a 1992 American crime drama film set in South Dakota on a Sioux reservation. It stars Val Kilmer as FBI Special Agent Ray Levoi, who is sent to investigate a murder on the reservation.
The film opens with Ray Levoi, a half-Sioux FBI agent, arriving on the reservation to investigate a murder. He meets with tribal elders, who are hesitant to cooperate with the investigation. Levoi is also met with hostility from the reservation’s inhabitants, who are suspicious of outsiders.
Despite the hostility, Levoi begins to uncover a conspiracy involving the murder and a plot to steal the reservation’s uranium. He discovers that the uranium is being mined illegally and that the tribal elders are involved in a plot to sell it on the black market.
As Levoi investigates further, he uncovers a secret government program that is trying to cover up the illegal uranium mining. He also discovers that the murder was part of a plot to silence one of the tribal elders who was trying to expose the truth.
With the help of a local medicine man, Levoi is able to uncover the truth and put an end to the conspiracy. In the end, the tribal elders are brought to justice and the uranium is returned to the reservation.
