Synopsis – What to Expect from “Three to Tango”
Three to Tango is a romantic comedy released in 1999. It follows the story of Oscar Novak, a successful architect who is hired to design a cultural center for a wealthy and influential Chicago businessman, Charles Newman. Oscar is unaware that Charles has hired him in order to make his mistress, Amy, jealous.
Oscar and Charles devise a plan for Oscar to pretend to be Amy’s boyfriend in order to make her jealous. At first, Oscar is hesitant to go along with the plan, but he eventually agrees. As he spends more time with Amy, he finds himself falling for her. Meanwhile, Charles’ wife, Lydia, begins to suspect something is going on between the two and hires a private investigator to follow Oscar.
The investigator soon discovers the truth and confronts Oscar. Oscar tries to explain the situation to Lydia, but she refuses to believe him. In a desperate attempt to prove his innocence, Oscar agrees to participate in a scheme to make Charles believe he has been unfaithful.
The plan backfires and Oscar is forced to confess the truth to Charles. Charles is furious and orders Oscar to leave. However, before Oscar can leave, Amy arrives and reveals that she has fallen in love with him. Charles reluctantly accepts the situation and allows the two to be together.
In the end, Oscar and Amy are happily reunited and the three of them form an unlikely friendship. The movie ends with Oscar and Amy walking off into the sunset, hand in
