Synopsis/Plot
Three Christs is a powerful and thought-provoking drama based on a true story. The film follows three men, each of whom believes he is Jesus Christ, as they are admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Michigan in 1959. Dr. Alan Stone (Peter Dinklage) is determined to prove that these men are not insane, but instead suffering from a rare psychological condition called “shared delusional disorder”. He sets out on a journey to prove his theory by immersing the three men in a unique therapeutic environment, where they are encouraged to explore their individual beliefs and engage in conversations with one another.
The three men, Joseph, Leon, and Clyde, each have their own unique stories and struggles. Joseph (Richard Gere) is a former rabbi who is trying to make sense of his newfound beliefs. Leon (Walter Perez) is a former prisoner who is struggling to reconcile his faith with his newfound beliefs. Clyde (Bradley Whitford) is a former salesman who is searching for meaning in his life.
