Synopsis/Plot
Thinner is a 1996 horror film directed by Tom Holland and based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The movie follows the story of a lawyer, Billy Halleck, who is cursed by a gypsy to become “thinner” after he accidentally runs over her in his car. As the curse takes its toll on Billy, he begins to lose weight at an alarmingly fast rate, and it soon becomes apparent that he is not the only one affected by the gypsy’s curse.
Billy’s wife, Heidi, and daughter, Linda, are also forced to deal with the repercussions of his actions and the curse. As Billy’s health deteriorates and the curse takes its toll, he is forced to confront his own mortality and come to terms with the fact that he may not be able to save himself from the gypsy’s curse.
The movie is a dark and eerie tale of a man’s struggle against an ancient curse, and the lengths he will go to in order to save himself and his family. With a strong performance from Robert John Burke as Billy Halleck, Thinner is an intense and thrilling horror movie that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
