Synopsis – What to Expect from “They Drive by Night”
They Drive by Night is a 1940 drama directed by Raoul Walsh and starring George Raft and Humphrey Bogart.
The story follows brothers Paul and Joe Fabrini, two hardworking truck drivers who are struggling to make ends meet. Paul is the more level-headed of the two, while Joe is more impulsive and reckless. They both share a dream of one day owning their own trucking business.
When they take a job driving for a shady trucking company, they quickly find themselves in over their heads. The company is run by a ruthless mob boss, Big Steve, who forces them to work long hours and dangerous routes, all while taking a cut of their hard-earned money.
The brothers soon find themselves in a battle for survival as they are forced to drive through the night, risking their lives on the dangerous highways. Along the way, they meet a beautiful woman, Cassie Hart, who is on the run from the mob.
The brothers risk their lives to protect Cassie and ultimately decide to take a stand against Big Steve and his mob. In the end, they are able to overcome the odds and reclaim their freedom.
