Synopsis – What to Expect from “They Come Knocking”
They Come Knocking is a 2019 horror film written and directed by Clint Bentley.
The film follows a young father, Clay (Aidan Fiske), and his daughter, Maddie (Maddie Nichols), as they travel across the United States in search of a new life. When their car breaks down in a small town, Clay takes a job at a local motel to make ends meet.
One night, Clay and Maddie are disturbed by a knock at the door. When they open it, they find a mysterious group of people, all dressed in black and wearing masks. The group is led by a woman, who introduces herself as Grace (Lili Taylor). She tells Clay and Maddie that they are here to help them and that they must come with her.
Clay and Maddie reluctantly agree and follow Grace and her followers to an old abandoned church. There, they learn that the group is a cult, and that they are searching for a powerful artifact. Clay and Maddie soon realize that they are in over their heads and must try to escape the cult before it’s too late.
The film follows Clay and Maddie as they try to escape the cult and the dangers that come with it.
