The Woman in Black is a 2012 British supernatural horror film directed by James Watkins and written by Jane Goldman. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover the town’s tragic and sinister secrets, and soon finds himself confronted by the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman set on revenge.
The film follows Kipps, a widowed lawyer, who is sent to a small village to attend to the affairs of a recently deceased client. Upon arriving in the village, Kipps is met with a hostile reception from the locals, who are reluctant to discuss the deceased. As Kipps begins to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding his client’s death, he discovers a connection between the woman and the village’s dark past.
