Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Wolverine”
The Wolverine is a 2013 Marvel superhero film starring Hugh Jackman as the titular character, Logan/Wolverine. The story follows Logan as he travels to Japan to say goodbye to an old friend, Yashida, who is on his deathbed.
When Logan arrives in Japan, he discovers that Yashida is not only still alive, but he has made a deal with a powerful and mysterious figure known as the Silver Samurai. Yashida has offered Logan’s healing powers in exchange for his own life. Logan is initially unwilling to accept the offer, but eventually agrees when Yashida’s granddaughter, Mariko, is threatened by the Yakuza.
Logan is soon hunted by the Yakuza and the Silver Samurai, who are both after his healing powers. With the help of Yukio, a mutant with the power of precognition, Logan is able to stay one step ahead of his pursuers. During his journey, Logan discovers that the Silver Samurai is actually Yashida’s son, Shingen, who is trying to gain control of his father’s company.
Logan’s healing powers are put to the test as he battles against the Yakuza, the Silver Samurai, and his own inner demons.
