Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Wolfpack”
The Wolfpack is a 2015 documentary film about the Angulo brothers, six siblings who were raised in a small apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York City. The film follows the brothers as they discover the world outside their apartment walls through the films they watch.
The film begins with a brief introduction of the Angulo family, consisting of six brothers and their parents, Susanne and Oscar. The boys, Bhagavan, Govinda, Narayana, Mukunda, Krisna, and Jagadesh, are homeschooled by their mother and have never been allowed to leave their apartment. Their only connection to the outside world is through the films they watch.
The film follows the brothers as they discover the world outside their apartment walls. They watch classic films such as The Godfather and The Dark Knight, and use the movies as a way to escape their restrictive home life. As they watch the films, the brothers begin to reenact scenes from the movies, using their limited resources to create costumes and props.
The film also follows the brothers as they eventually gain the courage to venture outside their apartment and explore the city. They begin to attend film festivals and screenings, and eventually find the confidence to make their own films.
