Synopsis/Plot
The Witches of Eastwick is a 1987 American dark fantasy-comedy film directed by George Miller and starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The film is based on the 1984 novel of the same name by John Updike.
The story follows three single women living in the small town of Eastwick, Rhode Island. Alexandra (Cher), Jane (Sarandon), and Sukie (Pfeiffer) are bored with their mundane lives and yearn for something more exciting. One day, a mysterious stranger named Daryl Van Horne (Nicholson) moves into the town and quickly captures the attention of the three women.
Van Horne is a charming, wealthy, and devilishly handsome man who seems to have an otherworldly power over the women. He seduces them and encourages them to embrace their inner power. As the women become more and more entranced by Van Horne, they discover that he is actually a powerful warlock.
