Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Wave”
The Wave is a 2019 Norwegian disaster drama film directed by Roar Uthaug and written by John Kåre Raake and Harald Rosenløw-Eeg.
The story follows Kristian, a geologist working in a small Norwegian mountain town, who discovers that a massive landslide is about to occur. He attempts to warn the town’s residents, but is met with disbelief and derision. Despite his warnings, the people of the town refuse to evacuate, and Kristian must find a way to save them from the impending disaster.
The film begins with Kristian, a geologist, and his family living in the small Norwegian mountain town of Geiranger. Kristian is monitoring seismic activity in the area and notices a large increase in activity. He warns the town’s mayor, but is met with skepticism and disbelief. Despite his warnings, the town’s residents refuse to evacuate.
Meanwhile, Kristian’s family is planning a camping trip to the nearby mountains. Kristian is hesitant to go, but eventually agrees to join them. As they are camping, Kristian notices a large wave surging towards them and realizes that it is a tsunami. He frantically tries to warn his family, but it is too late. The wave hits the mountain and the family is swept away in the ensuing chaos.
Kristian is the only one who survives, and he makes his way back to town. He finds the town in ruins and the mayor dead
