Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Void”
The Void is a 2016 horror movie directed by Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie. It is set in a small rural town, where a police officer, Daniel Carter (Aaron Poole), is called to a local hospital to investigate a disturbance. When he arrives, he finds the hospital deserted and filled with strange cultists in white robes. He soon discovers that the hospital is the center of a supernatural ritual, and that the cultists are trying to summon an ancient evil.
As Carter continues to investigate, he discovers that the cultists are part of a cult called the “Gates of Heaven”, and that they are trying to open a portal to a dark dimension called “The Void”. He also discovers that the cultists are led by a mysterious figure called the “Father” (Kenneth Welsh). Meanwhile, a group of survivors, including Carter’s estranged wife (Kathleen Munroe) and her friends, are trapped in the hospital.
As the cultists continue their ritual, they begin to transform, becoming grotesque monsters. Carter and the survivors must fight for their lives against the creatures, while also trying to find a way to close the portal to The Void. As the situation becomes increasingly desperate, Carter and the survivors must face their own fears and confront the evil that lurks in The Void.
