Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Ugly Dachshund”
The Ugly Dachshund is a 1966 family comedy about a couple who are forced to deal with the chaos that ensues when they adopt a dachshund puppy and their Great Dane falls in love with him.
Mark and Fran Garrison are a happily married couple who live in a suburban home with their two children, Timmy and Debbie. They are the proud owners of a Great Dane named Brontë and a beloved pet cat named Tiger.
One day, Mark and Fran come across a litter of dachshund puppies and decide to adopt one of them, which they name Danke. When Brontë and Danke meet, they immediately fall in love. Despite the fact that the two dogs are of different breeds, they become inseparable.
Mark and Fran, however, are not so thrilled with the situation. They are worried that the two dogs will create too much chaos in the house and try to keep them apart. But the two dogs are determined to be together and manage to find ways to be together.
Meanwhile, Mark and Fran’s neighbor, Mrs. Higgens, is a breeder of Great Danes and she is not pleased with the relationship between Brontë and Danke. She believes that the two dogs should not be together and she makes it her mission to keep them apart.
