Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Tortured”
The Tortured is a 2010 psychological thriller film directed by Robert Lieberman.
The film follows the story of couple Elise and Craig Landry, whose lives are turned upside down after their son, Michael, is kidnapped and murdered. After the police are unable to find the killer, Elise and Craig decide to take matters into their own hands and kidnap the man they believe to be responsible.
The couple take their captive to an isolated cabin in the woods, where they begin to torture him in an attempt to get him to confess to the crime. As the torture intensifies, Elise and Craig start to unravel, and their relationship is put to the ultimate test.
Meanwhile, the police are on the hunt for the missing man, and as the Landrys’ torture of their captive intensifies, they begin to realize that they may have gone too far. As they are forced to confront the consequences of their actions, they must also face the truth about their son’s death.
