Kennedy International Airport only to find that his passport is no longer valid due to a coup d’état in his country. Stranded in the terminal, Viktor is forced to live in the airport for months while he waits for the situation in his homeland to be resolved.
During his stay in the terminal, Viktor makes friends with the staff and passengers, learns English, and eventually falls in love with a flight attendant named Amelia Warren. He also finds himself in the middle of a feud between two airport employees, Frank Dixon and Gupta Rajan.
