When her mother (Ellen Burstyn) discovers a story Jennifer wrote at age thirteen, she is forced to confront her past and the memories that have been suppressed for decades.
As Jennifer re-examines her past, she realizes that her relationship with Bill and Mrs. G was far more complex and abusive than she ever realized. She must confront the truth of her past and the trauma she experienced in order to move forward in her life.
The film follows Jennifer as she re-examines her past and comes to terms with the abuse she experienced. It is a powerful and thought-provoking examination of the lasting effects of child abuse and the courage it takes to confront and heal from it.
