Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Stunt Man”
The Stunt Man is a 1980 comedy-drama starring Peter O’Toole, Steve Railsback, and Barbara Hershey. It is directed by Richard Rush and is based on the novel by Paul Brodeur.
The story follows Cameron (Railsback), a young fugitive who accidentally stumbles onto a film set and is hired as a stuntman by the director, Eli Cross (O’Toole). Cameron soon finds himself in a dangerous game of cat and mouse between Cross and the police as he attempts to stay one step ahead of the law.
The film follows Cameron as he is put through a dangerous series of stunts, while also trying to come to terms with his past and his own inner demons. Through his experiences on the film set, Cameron finds himself in a love triangle between his female co-star, Nina (Hershey), and the director Eli.
