Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Stranger”
The Stranger is a 2010 independent psychological thriller about a mysterious woman who appears in a small town and disrupts the lives of the people living there.
The film opens with a woman, Anna (played by Emily Blunt), arriving in the small town of Cedarville. She quickly catches the attention of the townsfolk, who are intrigued by her mysterious past and her strange behavior.
Anna soon finds a job at a local diner, where she meets the town’s sheriff, Jack (played by William Hurt). Jack is immediately suspicious of Anna, and is determined to figure out why she’s in town.
Meanwhile, Anna’s presence in the town begins to have a strange effect on the people living there. Several of the townspeople start to become paranoid and suspicious of one another, as if some dark force is at work.
Jack begins to investigate Anna’s past, and discovers that she was involved in a mysterious incident a few years ago. He slowly starts to unravel the mystery of Anna’s identity and her connection to the incident.
As Jack continues to investigate, the townspeople become more and more paranoid, and their fear and suspicion begin to turn to violence. In the end, Jack must confront the truth of Anna’s identity and the dark secrets she is hiding.
