The film follows the events leading up to the massacre, focusing on the two main gangs involved: the South Side Irish gang led by George “Bugs” Moran, and the North Side Italian gang led by Al Capone.
The film begins with a brief history of the gang rivalry between the two gangs, and then introduces the audience to the main characters of the story. We meet George “Bugs” Moran, the leader of the South Side Irish gang, and Al Capone, the leader of the North Side Italian gang. The two gangs are in a bitter rivalry, and tensions are high.
