Synopsis/Plot
The Spy Who Loved Me is a 1977 spy film and the tenth in the James Bond series to be produced by Eon Productions. It is the third to star Roger Moore as the fictional British Secret Service agent James Bond and the first to co-star Barbara Bach as Major Anya Amasova. The film’s plot revolves around a reclusive megalomaniac named Karl Stromberg who plans to destroy the world and create a new civilization under the sea. Bond teams up with a Russian agent, Anya Amasova, to stop Stromberg.
The film begins with a prologue introducing Stromberg and his plan. Bond is assigned to investigate the disappearance of British and Soviet submarines and he discovers a link to Stromberg’s plan. He meets Anya and the two agree to work together, despite the mistrust between their respective countries. They travel to Egypt where they are pursued by Stromberg’s henchmen, Jaws and Sandor. Bond and Anya escape and travel to Stromberg’s base in Sardinia.
