Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Sea Wolves”
The Sea Wolves is an action-adventure movie released in 1980. It is set in 1942, during the Second World War. The story follows a group of British soldiers who are tasked with an impossible mission: to destroy a German ship, the S.S. Kurtz, which is anchored in the harbor of Goa, India.
The group is led by Major Geoffrey Powell (Gregory Peck). He is an experienced soldier and has been tasked with this mission due to his expertise. He is accompanied by Captain Alan McQueen (Roger Moore), a former British intelligence officer, and Lieutenant John “Jacko” Jackman (David Niven), a retired naval officer.
The group is sent to Goa to carry out their mission. In order to do so, they must first gain access to the German ship. They enlist the help of two local fishermen, Salim and Ali (Curd Jürgens and Shashi Kapoor), who have knowledge of the area.
The group soon discovers that the Germans are aware of their presence and are preparing to defend the ship. The British must now find a way to infiltrate the German defenses and destroy the ship.
To make matters worse, they soon discover that the Germans have taken some of the local villagers hostage in order to prevent any kind of attack. The British must now find a way to free the hostages and complete their mission.
