Synopsis/Plot
The Santa Clause is a 1994 American Christmas fantasy comedy film directed by John Pasquin. It stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, an ordinary man who accidentally causes Santa Claus to fall from his roof on Christmas Eve. When he and his young son, Charlie, finish Santa’s trip and deliveries, they go to the North Pole where Scott learns he must become the new Santa and convince those he loves that he is indeed Santa Claus.
The film follows Scott as he is transformed into Santa Claus and begins to experience the joys of Christmas. He struggles with the realities of his new job, such as his growing waistline and white beard, while his ex-wife and her husband try to convince Charlie that Scott is not the real Santa. Scott must also contend with a mischievous elf named Bernard and a skeptical psychiatrist who does not believe in Santa.
In the end, Scott embraces his new role and discovers that the spirit of giving is more important than the trappings of the job. With the help of his son, Charlie, and Bernard, he is able to convince everyone that he is the real Santa and bring the joy of Christmas to his family and the world.
