Synopsis/Plot
The Running Man is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by Paul Michael Glaser and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, MarÃa Conchita Alonso, Yaphet Kotto, and Richard Dawson. The film is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Stephen King.
Set in the year 2019, The Running Man follows the story of Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger), a wrongly convicted convict who is forced to compete in a deadly game show called “The Running Man” in order to win his freedom. In this game show, Richards must outrun a variety of violent killers in order to survive.
The game show is hosted by the sadistic Damon Killian (Dawson), who is the creator of the show and is determined to make sure that Richards does not survive. Richards is joined by Amber Mendez (Alonso), a former television reporter who has decided to help Richards in his attempt to escape the game show.
Throughout the film, Richards must use his wits and strength to outwit and outrun the various killers, while also trying to stay one step ahead of Killian and his henchmen. Along the way, he meets a variety of allies, including a former champion
