Synopsis/Plot
The Punisher is a 2004 American action film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The film tells the story of FBI agent Frank Castle, who is out for revenge after his family is brutally murdered by mobsters. After his family is killed, Castle takes on the identity of The Punisher and begins a one-man mission to take out the mob and anyone associated with it.
The film stars Thomas Jane as Castle and John Travolta as Howard Saint, the mob boss responsible for the death of Castle’s family. The film also features Rebecca Romijn as Joan, Castle’s former love interest, and Roy Scheider as the retired FBI agent who helps Castle in his mission.
The film follows Castle as he tracks down and kills the people responsible for his family’s murder. Along the way, he also discovers a larger conspiracy involving Saint and his associates. As Castle gets closer to his goal, he is pursued by the FBI and a mysterious assassin known as The Russian.
