Synopsis/Plot
The Pledge is a 2001 American drama film directed by Sean Penn and starring Jack Nicholson, Aaron Eckhart, Helen Mirren, Vanessa Redgrave, Sam Shepard, Mickey Rourke, and Robin Wright Penn.
The film follows Jerry Black (Nicholson), a veteran detective who is about to retire from the Reno Police Department. Before he can do so, he is asked to investigate the murder of a young girl. He is determined to find the killer, and makes a pledge to the victim’s mother that he will not rest until the murderer is brought to justice.
As Jerry continues to investigate, he discovers a series of clues that lead him to the small town of Hawthorne, Nevada, where he meets a mysterious young girl named Ginny (Eckhart). Together, they search for the killer, and Jerry’s investigation takes him deep into the dark and twisted world of a serial killer.
The Pledge is a gripping and suspenseful drama that explores the depths of human depravity and the power of redemption. With an all-star cast and a powerful story, The Pledge is a must-see movie for fans of crime thrillers.
