After befriending two seniors, Sam and Patrick, Charlie is welcomed into their group of friends and begins to come out of his shell.
Charlie faces the challenges of growing up and navigating his relationships with his friends and family. He struggles with his mental health, including depression and anxiety, and the trauma of abuse he experienced as a child. Throughout the film, Charlie learns to accept himself and confront his past.
