Synopsis/Plot
The People Under the Stairs is a 1991 horror film directed by Wes Craven and starring Brandon Adams, Everett McGill, Wendy Robie, and A.J. Langer. The film follows a young boy named Fool (Adams) who lives in an inner-city neighborhood with his family. When his family is evicted from their home, Fool is forced to break into the home of his wealthy landlords, the Robesons (McGill and Robie). Once inside, Fool discovers a dark secret: the Robesons have been keeping a family of people locked up in the basement of their home.
Fool quickly finds himself in a fight for survival as he attempts to rescue the captives and escape the Robesons’ clutches. Along the way, he learns about the Robesons’ twisted past and the source of their wealth. He also discovers that the Robesons are not the only ones with secrets, as he uncovers a hidden world of dark magic and mysterious creatures living in the walls of the house.
