Synopsis/Plot
The Peacemaker is a 1997 action-thriller film directed by Mimi Leder and starring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. The film follows Dr. Julia Kelly (Kidman), a nuclear terrorism specialist, and Lt. Colonel Thomas Devoe (Clooney), a U.S. Army Special Forces officer, as they race to prevent a terrorist group from detonating a nuclear bomb in the Middle East.
The story begins when a stolen Russian nuclear device is smuggled into the United States. The CIA discovers that the device was stolen by a Serbian terrorist group and is now in the hands of a rogue general in the Middle East. In order to prevent the device from being used, Dr. Kelly and Lt. Colonel Devoe are sent to the Middle East to locate the bomb and the terrorists responsible.
The two quickly uncover a complex web of deceit and betrayal, as they discover that the terrorists are planning to use the bomb to spark a war between the United States and Russia. With time running out, Dr. Kelly and Lt. Colonel Devoe must work together to prevent the terrorists from carrying out their plan.
