Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Oxford Murders”
The Oxford Murders is a 2008 British-Spanish mystery-thriller film directed by Alex de la Iglesia and starring Elijah Wood, John Hurt and Julie Cox.
The film follows Martin (Elijah Wood), an American graduate student studying mathematics at Oxford University in England. Martin is befriended by Arthur Seldom (John Hurt), a famous professor of logic and mathematics.
When a series of mysterious murders occur around the university, Martin and Arthur team up to investigate the case. With the help of a local detective, they soon discover that all the victims have a mathematical connection and that the killer is using mathematical symbols to communicate with them.
As the investigation progresses, Martin and Arthur become increasingly convinced that the murderer is a genius mathematician, and that the murders are part of a complex mathematical puzzle. With the help of a colleague, they must solve the puzzle before the killer strikes again.
