Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Overnight”
The Overnight is a 2015 American comedy film written and directed by Patrick Brice.
The film follows Alex and Emily, a married couple living in Los Angeles, who are struggling to keep the spark alive in their relationship. After a chance encounter with Kurt and Charlotte, an attractive couple with a young son, they are invited over for dinner. As the night progresses, the couples become increasingly close, leading to a night of intimate conversations, unexpected revelations, and awkward situations.
The film begins with Alex and Emily out for dinner, discussing their stagnant marriage. After dinner, they run into Kurt and Charlotte, who invite them over for a playdate with their son Max. Alex and Emily accept the invitation and go to their home.
At Kurt and Charlotte’s home, the couples enjoy dinner and conversation. As the night progresses, the couples become increasingly close, and they share stories about their relationships and families.
