Synopsis/Plot
The One and Only Ivan is a heartwarming live-action/CG hybrid adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Katherine Applegate. It follows the story of Ivan, a silverback gorilla who has spent the last 27 years of his life living in captivity at a shopping mall. Despite his circumstances, Ivan has managed to find joy and purpose in his life by creating art and befriending the other animals that live there.
When a baby elephant named Ruby arrives at the mall, Ivan begins to feel a newfound sense of responsibility to protect her and teach her the ways of the world. With the help of his friends, Ivan embarks on a journey to reunite Ruby with her family and ultimately set all of the animals free. Along the way, Ivan discovers his true strength and courage and learns that friendship and loyalty are more powerful than anything else in the world.
