Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Omega Man”
The Omega Man is a science fiction film released in 1971. The movie is set in the year 1975, after a biological war has wiped out most of humanity. The protagonist, Colonel Robert Neville (played by Charlton Heston), is the last surviving human in Los Angeles. Neville is immune to the virus that killed everyone else, and spends his days scavenging for food and supplies.
At night, Neville is attacked by a group of mutants known as the Family. The Family are the survivors of the virus, but they have been mutated by it, and now have a hatred for Neville and all humans. Neville manages to fight off the Family, but is unable to kill them.
Meanwhile, Neville meets Lisa, a young woman who is also immune to the virus. Together, they search for a cure for the virus, and a way to stop the Family. As they search, Neville discovers that the Family is led by a mysterious figure known as Matthias.
Matthias is a former scientist who believes that the virus is a way to create a new, stronger race of humans. He plans to use the virus to wipe out all of humanity and replace them with his own race. Neville and Lisa must find a way to stop Matthias and save humanity.
In the end, Neville and Lisa manage to find a cure for the virus, and Neville defeats Matthias in a final showdown. With the virus cured, humanity is able to start rebuilding,
