Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Odessa File”
The Odessa File is a 1974 British-German thriller directed by Ronald Neame and starring Jon Voight and Maximilian Schell. It is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth.
The story follows Peter Miller (Voight), a young German journalist, as he attempts to uncover the truth behind a mysterious organization known as Odessa. Miller’s investigation leads him to the discovery of a secret network of former Nazi officers and their collaborators who are attempting to revive the Third Reich.
The film follows Miller as he attempts to track down the organization’s leader, the mysterious Dr. Joseph Goebbels (Schell). Miller soon discovers that Goebbels is planning to use a nuclear weapon to create a new Nazi regime in Germany.
Miller is aided in his mission by a Jewish survivor of the Holocaust, Max (Martin Benrath), who helps him uncover the truth behind Odessa. Along the way, Miller must confront his own personal demons, as well as the dangers of the ruthless Odessa organization.
The Odessa File is a thrilling journey of discovery and suspense, as Miller and Max risk their lives to uncover the secrets of the past and save the future.
