Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Nutcracker: The Untold Story”
The Nutcracker: The Untold Story is a 2010-11-24 fantasy adventure film about a young girl’s magical journey into a world of enchantment and wonder.
The story begins with Mary (Elle Fanning) receiving a mysterious nutcracker as a Christmas gift from her godfather, Drosselmeyer (Nathan Lane). Mary quickly discovers that the nutcracker is no ordinary toy, but a living creature who can talk and move.
The nutcracker, named NC (voice of John Turturro), reveals to Mary that he is actually a prince from a magical kingdom called the Land of the Sweets, which is ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy (Kathy Bates). NC has been cursed by the wicked Rat King (Richard E. Grant) and turned into a nutcracker.
The only way to break the curse is for Mary to journey to the Land of the Sweets and find the Sugar Plum Fairy. Along the way, she meets a variety of magical creatures, including a mischievous mouse, a wise owl, and a friendly dragon.
Mary and NC eventually make it to the Land of the Sweets, where they must battle the Rat King and his forces to save the kingdom. With the help of her newfound friends, Mary is able to defeat the Rat King and restore the kingdom to its former glory.
