Synopsis/Plot
The Nut Job is a 2014 3D computer-animated comedy film directed by Peter Lepeniotis and starring the voices of Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, Stephen Lang, and Sarah Gadon. The film follows Surly, a mischievous squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy as they plan a heist of a nut shop to help the park animals survive the winter. However, their plan goes awry when they discover the store is actually a front for a gang of bank robbers.
The film is set in Oakton, a fictional city in the Midwest. Surly, a self-centered and mischievous squirrel, is banished from the park by its leader, Raccoon, after a failed attempt to steal food from the park’s nut store. Now homeless, Surly and his rat friend Buddy set off to find a new home. They stumble upon a nut shop run by a gang of bank robbers, led by the infamous King. Surly and Buddy hatch a plan to steal the nuts and use them to feed the park animals through the winter.
