Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Naked Spur”
The Naked Spur is a classic western film from 1953. It follows the story of a bounty hunter, played by James Stewart, as he attempts to capture a wanted murderer in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains.
The film opens with Stewart’s character, Howard Kemp, on a mission to capture the murderer, Ben Vandergroat, for a hefty reward. Kemp is joined by two other bounty hunters, Jesse Tate and Roy Anderson, as well as an old prospector, Lina Patch. After a long journey, they finally catch up with Vandergroat, but he manages to escape.
Kemp and his crew continue to track Vandergroat, and they eventually come across a cabin owned by a young woman named Renee. It turns out that Vandergroat is in love with Renee, and he has been using her cabin as a hideout. Kemp and the others decide to use Renee as bait to lure Vandergroat out of his hiding place.
Kemp and his team eventually capture Vandergroat, but Kemp’s obsession with the reward money causes a rift between him and his companions. Kemp is determined to turn Vandergroat in for the reward, while Tate and Anderson are more concerned about Renee’s safety.
The tension between Kemp and his companions continues to grow, and eventually Tate and Anderson decide to leave Kemp and take Vandergroat with them. Kemp is left alone with Renee, and he begins to
